Deadlier than the Titanic
For the New York Times, September 2022, Senegal – In 2002, only 64 survivors were found on the sinking of a ferry carrying at least 1,900 passengers from the city of Ziguinchor (Casamance, Senegal) to Dakar. 20 years later, with the wreckage and hundreds of unrecovered bodies remaining underwater, survivors and families are still seeking justice for the victims of the second deadliest maritime wreck ever recorded.
