On March 8, 2019, Greenpeace Africa’s Ocean Team brought the voices of local women processors to the forefront as they fight for their livelihoods in a fish processing sector that is becoming increasingly difficult with the growing installation of fishmeal plants in local fishing communities.
Greenpeace Africa highlights the central role these women play in their communities where they are exposed to all sorts of environmental threats from coastal erosion, coal-fired power plants, pollution from concrete plants and the presence of mineral ports.
